Scooters find a new home

Katie and I took the scooters to the house today to take some photos of the latest progress.
Three walls up on the second floor, fourth to come Monday. Roof rafters going up this week!

Second floor going up soon

The big beam to support half of the second floor was dropped in by a boom truck the other day and the floor joists have been put in for the second floor. Decking and walls will be going in this week.

If these walls could talk

First floor decking is down and the exterior walls have gone up. The second floor joists are getting started tomorrow!

We have sills and floor joists!

The sills, box band, and floor joists are in. You can see where the chimney has been framed and staircase that will wrap around it. 2 by 12 floor joists make this house rock solid!

Foundation Poured and Backfilled

Things are moving along. The foundation walls were poured on Monday and coated on Tuesday. Today the insulation was applied and the hole was backfilled. The giant footing in the middle is for the massive center chimney!
