Foundation Poured and Backfilled

Things are moving along. The foundation walls were poured on Monday and coated on Tuesday. Today the insulation was applied and the hole was backfilled. The giant footing in the middle is for the massive center chimney!

Footings poured, Forms up

The guys poured the footings a couple days ago and filled around them with the perimeter drains and more crushed stone on top. They came today to set up the forms to pour the foundation walls on Monday. Moving right along!

With the ledge cleared out, stone was filled and the footing forms are in place. Footings will be poured tomorrow! Check out the pics.

Driveway in the rough

Now the driveway has been completely roughed in. The house site is cleared out and the foundation hole has been dug. You'll also see in the photos the drainage pipe and path into the woods. The excavator tried his best to break up some ledge that was discovered by dropping several of the giant boulders that he found onto the ledge. Unfortunately it didn't break it and we have to have a hoe ram come in to chip it away on Monday. Yay!

We finally closed on the construction loan on July 7 and the site work is underway! Check out the pictures!

Trail Clearing

Yesterday, Chris and I went out with our axes like the lumberjacks that we are, and cleared the trails of fallen down trees. We also chopped down a couple trees at the location of where the house is going to be. Land is ours and we're trying again

So we bought the land in January and are back in the saddle with an application into the bank for a construction loan. The appraisal will be underway and our fingers are crossed that the results are positive. Houses in the area have been selling and things have been appraising lately so our confidence is high.
